Grow

We believe that God intends for us to GROW in Faith throughout all of life. Because faith is a living relationship, it is meant to be a lifelong adventure with no graduation or conclusion. No matter how much we have grown or experienced, God always has more to teach us, show us and give us.

Adult education is the central focus and key component of our Christian Education efforts, for we believe that when adults are actively growing in their faith, then everybody will be growing in their faith. As we seek to cultivate and develop a passionate spirituality in our midst, Bible reading and Prayer will be essential elements. And we have learned over the years that Small Groups are almost always the best place for adult faith formation.

Though we often think of children when we hear the phrase "Sunday School," we believe that Christian Education is for ALL AGES. Furthermore, when it comes to the education of our children and youth, it needs to be congregation-owned, which means that everybody is responsible for helping it to happen, and not just parents and a few other interested adults. (As a part of our overall strategy to help raise our children in the faith, we have developed a list of "irreducible minimums" which lay out the central points we hope to communicate to the various age groups from birth through High School.)

While we are committed to offering all kinds of groups and studies, we also know that growing in faith must involve more than just "book learning." Indeed, we believe that people grow best when they identify and implement their Spiritual Gifts. Therefore, we are committed to developing a gift-oriented approach to ministry so that people's learning and experience can come together in a more holistic, unified way.

Finally, we believe that as we GROW in Faith, it will deepen our commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. Thus, our "vertical" relationship with God and our "horizontal" relationship with others will be nurtured and strengthened.
