Care 2 (Caring For Those "Inside" Ascension)

We believe that every person is a precious child of God who needs love, care, nurture and support. There is no such thing as "unimportant" or "throw-away" people.

We believe that each and every person has different interests, talents, skills and gifts and that ALL of them are essential for our ministry to be thriving. As St. Paul says, there are many members with different gifts but there is one body. (Romans 12:4 ff)

Children and Youth are important and valued here. We want them to honestly know and say, "My Church really cares about me!"

At Ascension, we will strive to be a healthy, vibrant community of faith with a "Family" feeling. We want to be a place where people feel needed, like they belong. We want both friendship and fellowship to be hallmarks of our congregational life.

This WILL be a place where we can have LOTS of fun, laughter, joy and celebration. At the same time, this WILL be a place where tears, pains and problems are also welcomed and embraced. As the people of God in the Body of Christ, we will acknowledge and be open to the whole range of human emotions.

We are committed to helping people build healthy relationships in ALL areas of life. And while we recognize the diversity of experience and circumstances that we find in life, we will especially seek to encourage and build up those core relationships of marriage, family and work.

We will go the extra mile to make this congregation accessible to people with special needs and to be "kid-friendly" in our life and ministry.
